Wallet allocation errors are one of the few casino disputes that support fixes willingly, because the mistake is mechanical rather than a judgement call.
By Alex Ivers, Casino & Crypto Gambling Expert at CasinoRevizor. This one happened to us: a deposit bonus landed in the sportsbook instead of the casino, and support corrected it after we raised it.
Most casino disputes are judgement calls that go the operator’s way. Allocation errors are the exception. When a bonus arrives in the wrong wallet, on the wrong product or attached to the wrong game, nothing about your behaviour is in question and the fix costs the operator nothing, which is why this is one of the few complaints that support actually resolves. At Thunderpick our deposit bonus was credited to the sportsbook rather than the casino. We raised it, and the allocation was corrected.

The important part is what you do in the first few minutes, because one wrong click converts a fixable error into a closed case.
Why one operator has several wallets
A site that offers both a casino and a sportsbook is usually running two products with separate bonus engines, separate wagering rules and, frequently, separate balances. The interface presents one account; underneath, the promotion has to be attached to a specific product, and that attachment is where things go wrong.
Four variants of the same problem show up repeatedly:
- Wrong product. A casino bonus lands in the sportsbook wallet, or the reverse. The funds exist and cannot be used where you intended, and the wagering rules that now apply are the other product’s rules.
- Wrong game. Free spins are credited on a title other than the advertised one, often with a different bet size and therefore a different value.
- Wrong deposit. The bonus attaches to a later deposit than the one that qualified, which can change the amount or void eligibility entirely.
- Wrong currency wallet. On a multi-currency account the bonus arrives in a wallet you do not use, and converting it may not be permitted while wagering is active.
The single most important rule: do not play it
Stop before the first bet with the misallocated funds. This is the whole game.
An untouched bonus can be reversed and reissued cleanly, because there is nothing to unwind. Once you have placed a bet with it, several things become true at once: the operator can reasonably say you accepted the allocation, the wagering counter has started under the wrong product’s rules, and any winnings are now entangled with funds that were never supposed to be there. Support that would happily have moved an untouched bonus will decline to unpick a played one, and they are not being unreasonable.
Screenshot the promotion page, your deposit confirmation and the wallet showing the bonus, in that order, before you contact anyone. Promotion pages are edited and expired offers disappear, taking the evidence of what you were promised with them.
How to raise it so it gets fixed
Frame the message as a correction request rather than a complaint. You are reporting a mismatch between two documents the operator controls, which is an easy thing for a support agent to act on.
- State the promotion by its exact name and the date you claimed it.
- State the deposit: amount, timestamp and method.
- State where the bonus landed and where the promotion said it would land.
- Confirm explicitly that you have not used the funds, since that is the fact that makes a clean reversal possible.
- Ask for the bonus to be moved to the correct product, or removed and reissued.
Live chat is fine for opening this, and follow up by email or ticket so a record exists. Our own case was resolved after contact rather than automatically, which is worth stating plainly: nobody noticed on the operator’s side until we said something.
Why sportsbook wagering is worse than it looks
It is tempting to shrug and use the bonus where it landed. The arithmetic argues against it.
Sportsbook bonus terms usually impose a minimum odds requirement on every qualifying bet, so low-risk selections do not count toward the turnover at all. Some products exclude cashed-out bets, and many exclude one half of a two-way market. A turnover target that would be routine on slots becomes a sequence of genuinely risky sports bets, and slots are where casino bonuses are cleared for a reason.
The reverse case has its own trap. A sportsbook bonus dropped into a casino wallet arrives under casino weighting rules, where table games often count at a small fraction and live dealer content is frequently excluded outright.
When it will not be moved
Three answers are common and only one of them is genuinely bad news.
“The promotion was for the sportsbook.” Check the promotion page you screenshotted. If it says otherwise, quote it back with the date. If it turns out the offer really was for the other product, this was a misreading rather than an error, and the honest move is to accept that.
“Bonuses cannot be transferred between products.” Often technically true, and it is not the end of the request. Ask for the bonus to be removed and reissued on the correct product instead, which is usually possible even where a transfer is not.
“You have already used it.” This is the one that closes the matter, and it is why the rule about not playing comes before everything else in this article.
Preventing the next one
- Where the deposit form has a product selector or a bonus code field, use it deliberately rather than relying on a default.
- Deposit first and check the wallet before playing anything, which takes seconds and catches every variant in this article.
- Screenshot the promotion page before depositing, since offers expire and pages change.
- On a multi-currency account, confirm which wallet is active before the deposit lands.
- Consider declining the bonus altogether when you intend to withdraw quickly, which removes this entire category of problem.
Questions people ask us
Is this common enough to worry about?
It happened once across our own deposits at 19 casinos, so it is not the norm. It is worth knowing about because the correct response is time-sensitive and counterintuitive, and because unlike most disputes this one has a genuinely good chance of being fixed.
Can I just withdraw my deposit and start again?
Sometimes, though claiming a bonus commonly locks the deposit until wagering completes. Ask support to remove the bonus first, then withdraw. Attempting the withdrawal with an active bonus usually triggers forfeiture of the bonus and can complicate the payout.
Does this count as the casino breaking the terms?
It is a mismatch between the published promotion and what was credited, which is why it is worth raising with the promotion page attached. It is usually a system error rather than bad faith, and framing it that way gets it fixed faster than framing it as an accusation.
What if support does not respond?
Leave the funds untouched and escalate through whatever route the licence provides, with the promotion screenshot and the deposit timestamp. An untouched bonus keeps the situation reversible for as long as you need it to be.
Our verdict
Do not place a single bet with a misallocated bonus. Screenshot the promotion, report the mismatch as a correction request, and say explicitly that the funds are untouched. This is one of the few casino problems where contacting support reliably works, and ours was fixed exactly that way.
